Once Mom Was Gone

This documentary was made in cooperation with The African Child Policy Forum in 2007 & 2008.

The documentary introduces the issue of child-headed household, households in which young children are the primary caregivers and breadwinners for siblings, and sometimes for dying parents.  Learn about the devastating effects on the children, families, communities, and society through candid interviews with the children themselves.  This documentary highlights the magnitude of the problem and offers suggestions on how society, particularly policy-makers, can make a difference, urging them to take immediate action.
